A very very peaceful temple and the peace one gets from here is amazing. There is a perennial waterfall at the top of the temple devoted to the goddess and one can take a shower before going to the temple. The Amla tree just at the entrance of the temple is famous from the "Avvai Paati" story and is still protected and kept. There is also a bus facility run by the temple management from the foothills. Cars can go right to the top of the hill by paying a toll of Rs 50. Situated at the top of a forest type hillock, this temple is a small one as compared to some of the other Muruga temples. Tamil Hindu Culture believes that visiting the 6 "Padai Veedu" of Lord Muruga, removes all sins committed. It is around 23 kms from the town of Madurai. This temple is the last of the "padai veedu" temples of Lord Muruga.
